Our Students
Our students possess some or all of the following characteristics:
- ADHD
- Average IQ
- Dislike of school
- Dyslexia
- Lacking self-confidence
- Learning challenges
- Low self-esteem
- Labeled an “underachiever”
- Difficulty sitting still
- Poor writing skills
- Poor reading and/or comprehension skills

GREATNESS!
We believe all children have a GREATNESS to be discovered and cultivated. What makes your head and heart happy? This is the question we ask to help them discover what this GREATNESS might be.
The Academy Way is to focus most of our time on the strengths of our
students. We help our children understand who they are, what their strengths are, and how to minimize their weaknesses. This is what we believe will prove of most value to them in real-life. Their GREATNESS is what makes them special, and we will help them understand this.

Individual Attention
We believe providing our students with individual attention is important to their ultimate academic success. All of our students receive 1:1 attention at some point during each school day. Our Structured Literacy groups are limited to no more than 3 students and in our other academic classes/groups there are 5 or fewer students. Overall, we have a teacher:student ratio of 1:5.

Year-Round Calendar
Our year-round calendar is an example of our commitment to our students’ overall success. We keep students engaged in learning every month throughout a calendar year. Ultimately, our finish line is high school graduation. We view the continuum of learning as a marathon, not a sprint. We are proud of our year-round calendar and believe that it helps our teachers and students continue to be refreshed and ready to teach and learn.
